It is a very interesting time in the world right now. Of course it is very unfortunate about what is happening but it is something that we haven’t quite experienced before. Back when the Swine Flu was going around at an alarming rate, not much was done to prevent the spread because it wasn’t really seen as too serious of a threat. Unfortunately people died but at a rate well below 1%. The statistics about any of these cases are left to be interpreted by the reader because of how wide the range of these estimates can be.

A World Affected

The Coronavirus has essentially put the whole world at a pause. Any vacations are to be reconsidered, any events are most likely cancelled, and any gatherings are likely to be put on hold. Current estimates given by the President of the United States state that normal everyday life activities will resume in early July. Others estimate that late May will be the time that society begins to function again. Just to give a reference point, the Chinese struggled with the Coronavirus for a little less than 2 months. Reports in China of the Coronavirus took over in late January and it appears that the worst is definitely behind them in China. They have seen a huge drop in new cases and they seemed to have stabilized that rate.

Of course things can still change in China and the reason they recovered well so far is because of their strict shutdown policies that were introduced to contain the spread. The US doesn’t really seem that interested in instilling nationwide lockdowns so you can expect the virus to hit harder and faster. Honestly by mid April we should experience the peak of the virus here in the US. But the return to normal activities could be around early May.

Delayed Air Jordan Sneaker Releases

Anyways, sorry to go so far off topic. Just thought I’d give my insight on the matter. As of March 17, 2020 there are 6 high profile Air Jordan Retro releases that were postponed due to the Coronavirus. The reasons that they were delayed mainly have to deal with logistics, not with spreading contaminated materials. The problem that Nike faces at the moment is that shipping is increasingly hard with this virus going around. Many of their manufacturing sites around the world have felt the hit of the virus. Because of this they are left shorthanded when it comes to producing and shipping out products to other retailers. Even though some retailers already have some of these releases, it made more sense to delay some Air Jordan sneaker releases until a date that they believed every retailer would have the sneaker.

The Most Anticipated Air Jordan Delayed Releases:

Air Jordan 6 Retro
‘DMP’

Style ID: CT4954 007
Colorway: Black/Metallic Gold
Retail Price: $200
Release Date: April 11, 2020
For the most anticipated release of this batch is the Air Jordan 6 DMP has been pushed back to April 11th, 2020. Any DMP will always entice any sneakerhead and this release is no different. The sneaker pays homage to Michael Jordan’s first championship. It features a black and gold colorway that is sure to make its mark in any sneakerhead’s collection.

Air Jordan 13 Retro
‘Flint’

Style ID: 414571 404
Colorway: Navy/White-Grey
Retail Price: $190
Release Date: May 2nd, 2020
The other release that we believe warrants a lot of your attention is the Air Jordan 13 Retro ‘Flint’ colorway. It’s a great colorway of white, grey, and navy. It pays homage to the town of Flint, Michigan. I’m actually not a huge fan of Jordan 13’s but this one is actually one that I might get. The Air Jordan sneaker release delay definitely upset a lot of sneakerheads with this postponement.

Air Jordan 5 Retro
‘Top 3’

Style ID: CZ1786 001
Colorway: Black/Red-Purple
Retail Price: $200
Release Date: May 30th, 2020
The Air Jordan 5 Retro ‘Top 3’ release is the next on our most anticipated delays. We love this sneaker because of the history behind it. This delayed release combines ‘Fire Red’, ‘Metallic’, and ‘Grape’ in order to make this colorful sneaker. All three of these sneakers are very present in the design of the release. The grape tongue and the red mid sole mark clear indications for both of those colorways. ‘Metallic’ is the most apparent colorway in this sneaker. The entire body of the new release is dedicated to the ‘Metallic’ release. It is a very interesting delayed Air Jordan sneaker release that many sneakerheads will be excited about.

Air Jordan 5 Retro
‘Fire Red’

Style ID: DA1911 102
Colorway: White/Red-Black
Retail Price: $200
Release Date: April 25, 2020
Another highly anticipated Air Jordan 5 Retro that was delayed is the ‘Fire Red’. Many national retailers have this sneaker already but Nike decided to delay the release anyways because some retailers wouldn’t have it on time. This colorway is a rerelease of a popular Air Jordan 5 Retro that Michael Jordan wore when he scored 69 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers on March 28, 1990. This release marks the 30th anniversary of the original release. Sneakerheads will definitely try their best to get their hands on this delayed release.

Air Jordan 11 Retro Low
‘White Bred’

Style ID: AV2187 160
Colorway: White/Black-Red
Retail Price: $185
Release Date: May 23rd, 2020
The Air Jordan 11 Low ‘White Bred’ will be another delayed release that sneakerheads will be highly anticipating. This colorway combines both the ‘Concord’ and the ‘Bred’ release. Both of those colorways were hard to get on release day so expect the same for this release that combines both of them.

Air Jordan 4 Retro
‘Court Purple’

Style ID: CT8527 115
Colorway: White/Court Purple-Metallic Silver
Retail Price: $190
Release Date: May 14th, 2020
The last delayed release that made the most anticipated release list is the Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘Court Purple’. Not too many details have been released about this sneaker but the design is very minimal but clean. An all white colorway with purple accents make this one of the cleanest Air Jordan 4’s we’ve seen. There is no word as to whether this will be a women’s or a men’s sneaker but it will definitely appeal to both genders.
