VISION :: Premium :: Second-Hand :: Ford SVT Raptor:: Outside the Box- A key question is: Can a factory performance package handle the abuse involved with daily civilian use? See the buyer's forum for the full story.
I got the car from a friend and I am picking it up tomorrow. My son is a Ford SVT Raptor owner and he was hoping that I could use the car for my x-terra. In the long run it would probably be best, but I only have been able to drive it on the back roads where the speed limit is around 40 mph. As there is no way the car would ever be registered to me and I don't expect to be able to get it insured on my car, I will probably keep it for several months and then sell it. So, my question is: Can I go through a dealer, take the package and suspension and put it on the car then sell it? It was still on the car's VIN plate, but they have already asked for the documentation to verify this, and I know that the car was originally a rental.
I am looking for an adapter that could modify the steering for the rear wheel drive car. I think I could just use the steering adapter but I want to know if I can rig up a steering wheel adapter to work for the SVT.
As for the interior, it's in decent condition except for a ripped console and scuffed and scratched dashboard (relatively new cars) and a torn seat. Only complaint with the seats is that the driver's seat is the only one that has a factory function key. This is a pretty reliable car, I didn't take any chances with it since it was on the used car lot.
I know that there is no interior but I am concerned about the rust in the passenger door (heavy rust in the upper and lower exterior panels) and the unibody (I believe that's what it's called). I'm not concerned about the sheet metal or minor cosmetic damage.
I have a shop manual with a lot of extra information on it too (a couple hundred pages of pictures and instructions.)
I am going to get some pictures of the exterior to attach, just a couple. I love how the back window is a little crushed but it looks good on the side of the car.
I also have a youtube video of the car on a lift.
I was hoping to get $2,000 for it.
