open fuse. this will launch the fuse creator console. you can click the small pencil icon in the upper left corner to open the properties panel. to the right is the fuse menu. click on the triangle icon to add new body parts to your character. you can also use the fuse menu to add smart textures to the body part. smart textures are created by computer algorithms that rapidly generate a variety of textures for use in games. they can include clothing, body parts, walls, and other key features of your game that you can share or hide away if you like.
fuse applications include enough clothing items and smart textures to fully model and animate a total of any size or shape 3d character, but the default, free stuff is lacking in variety. there is a full library of smart textures, but only five clothing items. to solve this problem, mixamo is creating new body part for traditional modeling applications such as 3d studio max and xsi. fuse basic is currently featuring 18 body parts, 14 clothing items, and 4 smart textures, but on average, more then 100 clothing items and body parts are needed to model a 3d character.
