MONDAY MOTIVATION

2013 is gone and 2014 is here. It’s time to do an inner circle inventory! We’re all well familiar with those people–at times, including ourselves–who come up with resolutions for the New Year that never get accomplished by its end. Unfortunately, that’s because we never take the necessary steps to evaluate where we went wrong the year before and don’t have the boldness to take the first step in the opposite direction of the previous mistakes we’ve made. Much, not all, of the faults of the past are tied to faulty people. Yes, we all know that “nobody’s perfect,” but who you surround yourself around is crucial to your personal growth, maturity and success. So as we take on 2014, I challenge you to take a good, hard look at the people you call “friends” and others that you associate with. Be honest with yourself: Are they encouraging you and pulling you up, or are they naysayers who are holding you down? Do they help you to make choices you’re proud of, or decisions you regret? Do they support any changes you want to make or do they mock you for even wanting to change? Are they going somewhere in life, or are they stagnant? If you want to activate the great potential inside of you, you have to surround yourself by better friends. “Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and thinkers…but most of all, surround yourself with those who see greatness within you.”
