SHIEKH SHOES X NIKE: #WERUNCOMPTON

We have a special place in our hearts for giving back to the community. And last week, we teamed up with Nike along with Mayor Aja Brown and the City of Compton to launch the city’s first Elevated Run Club, “We Run Compton.”

As an initiative to promote health and fitness, the day kicked off with a 2-mile run that started at Compton City Hall and finished at the local Shiekh Shoes store. Over 250 teens got the opportunity to tackle fitness challenges with the help of trainers while also enjoying live music, free tasty treats from B Sweet Catering and had the chance to win some Nike gear with the many sneaker giveaways.

Olympic gold-medalist Carmelita Jeter–known as the world’s fastest woman–stopped by to show her support. NBA athlete, Josh Childress, also came out, encouraging the youth to do well in school, go for their dreams & have fun with fitness.
