Converse Revamped: The Alpha Tall Collection
An icon and staple in the shoe game, Converse Chuck Taylor has introduced a new variation in their collection of sneakers. Although the design of the Chuck Taylor All-Star has remained largely unchanged since its introduction, the new Alpha Tall sneaker design puts a spin on the brand’s classic high-top silhouette. The revamp adds modern touches to the classic details of the original Chuck Taylor. The shoe’s upper is made of premium suede, there is a discreet pull tab on the heels for functionality, and a hidden lacing system adds to the aesthetic of the design. Available in black and ash grey, the new All-Star sneaker comes in at a price point of $90.

Converse “Chuck Taylor” All Star Logo – 1923
The original style of the All Star sneaker has been the main identity for Converse since 1921. Leading up to that year, Converse made the attempt to capture the basketball shoe market with minimal success. However, it was in 1921 that American basketball player, Charles ‘Chuck’ Taylor, joined the company with his ideas to enhance the design of the All Star shoe. Within a year, Taylor brought suggestions to the table that would change the design of the shoe to provide enhanced flexibility and support. By 1932, Chuck Taylor’s name was added to the signature logo on the ankle patch. As a spokesperson for the brand, Taylor increased sales of the sneaker and watched it rise to the status of an elite basketball shoe. In the 1960s, Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars were being worn by 90% of professional and college basketball players. As time went on, the shoe gained more popularity and became a favorite for numerous groups and subculture, making it the icon it is today!
