Urban skate brand TRUKFIT teams up with Young Money recording artist Chanel West Coast to launch its very own juniors line.
Though Lil’ Wayne is known for his lyrical insanity and musical genius in the booth–amazingly being able to spit one 16 after another without having written a single word down–we’re sure that there’s one title under his belt that many are unaware he holds: fashion designer. And adding to the fact that he’s also a superb talent scout–signing some of hip-hop’s biggest names like Drake, Nicki Minaj & Tyga–he’s making the newest addition to the Young Money family, Chanel West Coast, the face of the new junior line of his apparel brand, TRUKFIT.
The New Orleans-bred emcee has been doctoring up dope threads with his menswear line, TRUKFIT. The streetwear brand is known for its bold graphics and on-trend style that manages to cater to both skaters and hip-hop fans alike. And now the juniors line keeps in line with that aesthetic, featuring plenty of funky cartoon-like prints and animalistic accents.
We first heard of “Young Mula” signing the 25-year-old femcee earlier this year in an interview she gave at SXSW. You may know her best from Rob Dyrdek’s MTV shows Ridiculousness & Fantasy Factory as the sweet Cali girl who can duke it out with the best of them on the mic. And with her already having a cult-like following, it was clear Weezy knew what he was doing when he added her to the YMCMB crew. With the summer release of her mixtape, Now You Know, we’re sure there’s probably an upcoming album in the works. We wonder which of her fellow YMCMB label-mates will be featured on her future LP?
