Dior x Air Jordan: Luxury Meets Basketball April 2020
Well we can dream can’t we? Of course copping this sneaker was always going to be hard but they didn’t have to make it virtually impossible. Let’s not talk about that just yet. Let’s just focus on what a beautiful sneaker this is. Honestly, this is definitely up there next to the Air Jordan 1 x Off-White release.
Dior x Air Jordan 1 High ‘Air Dior’
Style ID: Unknown Colorway: Grey/Black-Sail Release Date: April 2020 Retail Price: $2,000 Where to Buy: Dior (see below for more information) Well the things that everyone notices first is the Nike swoosh draped with the Dior logo. It is amazing. Simple as that. Then we have the Air Jordan logo but with the words ‘Air Dior’ put in instead. Nice little feature that should definitely increase its resale value. Next we have the icy blue transparent undersole. Behind the undersole you’d be able to find the Dior logo on one foot and Air Dior logo on the other. The tongue tag also gets a makeover with the words ‘Dior Air’ taking the place of ‘Nike Air’.
On the tongue you also get perhaps one of the most lucrative features of the sneaker. The whole tongue has the Dior brand splattered all over it. Difficult to see because the words are the same color as the tongue. But once you notice it, you can’t take your eyes off it. On the inner heel you also have a black patch that simply reads ‘Miami’. The shoe laces are also enclosed by a metallic aglet that has ‘Dior’ etched on it. Finally, we have an Air Dior and Jordan logo hang tag with Dior etched on the back of both.
Made in Italy
All of this is featured with a simple grey and white colorway that is very easy on the eye. It is actually edge-painted by hand and made in Italy. The black Nike Dior swoosh logo contrasted the colorway nicely. It also draws your eyes to it which is nice considering that it encapsulates the Air Jordan 1 x Dior collaboration well. The light blue transparent lining for the undersole is also nice to look at. Overall, the colorway is pretty simple but the features are anything but.
Too Rich For My Taste
The part we’ve all been dreading. It has been announced that they will be released in April 2020 with a date that still has not been decided on. But with that news also came the report that they will be retailed for $2,000. Well at least we can see them in pictures. But that’s probably the closest any one of us will get to these sneakers. Also, in the report was the announcement that production will be limited to only 8,500 sneakers. This is only for the Air Jordan 1 High ‘Air Dior’, there is no word about how many lows there will be.
‘Air Dior’ Collection
However, there is a silver lining to all of this negative news. Dior announced that they will include a low top version of the Dior x Air Jordan 1 ‘Air Dior’ High. There have been no reports on how the prediction will be for the low top version of this sneaker but expect production to be limited. Another bright side to all of this negativity is that there will be an entire line of ‘Air Dior’ products. This includes products that will be ready to wear and accessories as well. The only products that have been confirmed so far have been the two sneakers and the ‘Air Dior’ sweater. Other items that will likely be confirmed soon will be the bucket hat, socks, and a bomber. All of them will most likely have limited production and have a very high price tag just like the sneakers.
Where & How to Get the ‘Air Dior’ Collection
Make sure to save as much money as you can by April 2020 because Dior is going to be coming for your money. They will make you break the bank for even their cheapest accessory. Right now no official store list has been announced but they have confirmed that it will only be released in select Dior stores. Right now 9 locations have been announced to be receiving a few pairs but not too much information has been confirmed.
However, Dior also announced that they will have pop up stores around the world in order to reach as many people as possible. Dior has also confirmed that they will have a raffle available at all locations were people will get around 1 week to go and sign up for a chance to buy the Air Jordan 1 High.
