The much-anticipated official music video for Jay Z’s popular track “Holy Grail” just hit the web! It goes without saying that unanimously, Jay would be one of the expected names in the hip-hop hall of fame if there were such a thing. The 43-year-old rapper has been in the game for quite some time now and with the recent release of his twelfth studio album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, he’s still holding his own at the top.
While the video for his latest single is not Hov’s best of all time, we do like that he’s still incorporating the theme of mixing art and hip-hop, as emphasized with the album. Yet many still have love for the legendary emcee and are feeling his latest LP, while others aren’t all that impressed with MCHG. With critiques that he has “recycled rhymes” and that he’s not bringing anything new to the music game, we wonder if it’s best for him to retire–for real this time. With his growing roster of titles–from entrepreneur to sports agent to father–it wouldn’t be a big deal if Jay passed the mic to the upcoming emcees and stuck with being a CEO.
What do you think? Should Jay Z keep making music? Or should he just be a mogul?
