Ranking This Week’s Sneaker Releases

The first week of March and we will already see some of the most prolific sneaker releases of the year. However, none from this week will top the Travis Scott x Nike SB Dunk Low collab from last week but there is definitely one that got close to it. For the week of March 01, 2020 – March 07, 2020, 7 releases made it to our Caps2Kicks release calendar and we are going to rank them for you here.

Only 3 sneaker brands made the cut this week and one clothing brand snuck in with a collaboration release. Of course Nike dominated the week again by having 5 entries for this week. Asics makes its first appearance on the Caps2Kicks calendar with a surprising themed release. Jordan also came in with 1 release for the week. Who will take the release of the week? David or Goliath? Find out here. One thing to note is that we do not take price into consideration for these rankings. Therefore, the Caps2Kicks Overall Rating is not applied to these rankings since those ratings incorporate cost. For these rankings we judge the releases on mostly style.

#7 Release of the Week

Nike Air Streak Lite ‘Summit White’

Style ID: CD4387 100 Colorway: Summit White/White-Persian Violet-Metallic Gold Retail Price: $110 Release Date: March 1, 2020 Where to Buy: Nike.com At #7, the Nike Air Streak Lite ‘Summit White’ comes in at the bottom of the list. The ‘Summit White’ was a solid release with a lot of history behind it. It is actually a release of the 1995 line that was created by the first Japanese creative Nike team. And the sneaker also incorporates some neat little features like a Japanese character on the tongue. Even though it was a solid release, the sneaker seemed to lack a bit of flash that makes a release special. Still at a great price and a great design, these would make excellent running sneakers if you need them.

#6 Release of the Week

Nike React Presto Premium ‘Pistachio Frost’

Style ID: CN7664 300 Colorway: Pistachio Frost/Black-White Retail Price: $140 Release Date: March 5th, 2020 Where to Buy: Nike & Shiekh online and in-store & Finish Line and many other national retailers Resale Price Prediction: $130 For #6 we have another running sneaker in the Nike React Presto Premium ‘Pistachio Frost’. The simple reason as to why this release beat out the ‘Summit White’ in our rankings this week, is because the design is better on this sneaker. The shrubbery pattern is contrasted well with the white midsole and cage. The retail price is a bit higher than the ‘Summit White’ but we believe that it makes up for the cost with style. Again, if you’re looking for new running sneakers then consider these.

#5 Release of the Week

Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Chrome White’

Style ID: 624041 103 Colorway: White/Black-University Red Retail Price: $230 Release Date: March 5, 2020 Where to Buy: Nike & Shiekh & many other national retailers Resale Price Prediction: $240 The Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Chrome White’ comes in at #5 for this week’s releases. Honestly, the all white colorway is always going to be a fan favorite. It should go without saying that this sneaker should do well in the resale market compared to other Foamposites. It’s a simple design with a lot to like. The only thing that we would criticize about this sneaker is the high retail price. But we don’t take that into consideration for these rankings.

#4 Release of the Week

Asics Gel-Lyte 3 ‘Kobe Beef’

Style ID: AI1191A347 700 Colorway: Sakura/Sakura Retail Price: $220 Release Date: March 1, 2020 Where to Buy: European Only Release/ Online Kith and SoleBox At #4 we have the Asics Gel-Lyte 3 ‘Kobe Beef’ release. Unfortunately, that means that David did not beat Goliath this week. This is a strong release with some really exciting features. It has Japanese lettering on the side of the heel which translates to ‘The Land of the Rising Sun’. The design of this release also comes from the coveted Japanese Wagyu cattle meat. Made with premium leather, it is very interesting how they were able to encapsulate the culinary theme with a sneaker release.

#3 Release of the Week

Nike LeBron 7 ‘Fairfax’

Style ID: CU5646 001 Colorway: Black/Varsity Red-Varsity Maize Retail Price: $200 Release Date: March 6, 2020 Where to Buy: Nike & other select retailers Resale Price Prediction: $310 At #3 we have the Nike LeBron 7 ‘Fairfax’ release. It was first introduced to the world as a Player Exclusive release back in 2009 so it has definitely been a long time coming for this release. March 6, 2020 will mark the sneaker’s debut on the retail market which should be very exciting. There is a lot of history with this sneaker so definitely expect it to move quickly.

#2 Release of the Week

Air Jordan 3 Retro ‘UNC’

Style ID: CT8532 104 Colorway: White/Valor Blue-Tech Grey Retail Price: $190 Release Date: March 7, 2020 Where to Buy: Nike SNKRS & Shiekh & other national retailers Resale Price Prediction: $220 At #2 for the week we have the long awaited general retail release of the Air Jordan 3 Retro ‘UNC’. Just like the Nike LeBron 7 ‘Fairfax’, the Air Jordan 3 Retro ‘UNC’ was initially a Player’s Exclusive release. Many people will be looking to get their hands on a pair on March 7th. The ‘UNC’ silhouette has been a perennial fan favorite ever since its Player’s Exclusive release. However, the resale price seems to be slacking and we expect that to go even lower once the release date comes. Either way don’t like the resale price affect your mentality about this release. It is still a solid sneaker with a lot of history and soul.

#1 Release of the Week

Supreme x Nike Air Force 1

Style ID: CU9225 001 Black / CU9225 100 White Colorway: Black/Black – White/White Retail Price: $96 Release Date: March 05, 2020 (March 07, 2020 for Japan) Where to Buy: Supreme in-store and online Resale Price Prediction: $150 Finishing at #1 for the week is the Supreme x Nike Air Force 1 release. The largely anticipated collaboration has been on many people’s radar ever since it was first rumored late last year. This release really came out of nowhere. Everything seemed to happen so rapidly.

But now we know that the release date for the Supreme x Nike Air Force 1 is March 5, 2020. We also know that the retail price will be $96! And we also know that they will be frequently restocked. Everyone should be super hyped up about this release. Most people should be able to get their hands on a pair. This is truly a release for the sneakerheads.
