Nike has given us quite a few dope releases this year. And adding to that list is today’s debut of the Nike x Hasbro-collaborated Nike Air Trainer SC II “Megatron.”
Channeling inspiration from Detroit Lions wide recover Calvin “Megatron” Johnson whose nickname stems from the ever-popular Transformers franchise, the kicks are said to embody the player’s rare combination of physical talent and metal toughness. Johnson’s powerhouse reputation on the field is definitely incorporated in the Nike Air Trainer SC II “Megatron” sneaks, with their sleek design and colorful accents that pack a punch.
The original Bo Jackson signature trainers take on a Decepticon-inspired color scheme, with its Black, space-speckled base, Anthracite toe and side panels, Challenge Red tongue and laces, and are complete with Court Purple pillow ankle cushioning and Decepticon logos at the heel. If the name alone isn’t too futuristic for your, then the robotic high-top silhouette and circuit board print at the sneaker’s sides should do it. And when the lights go out, they come to life with their glow-in-the-dark outrigger.
