TLC COVERS V MAGAZINE

With the record-breaking success of the VH1 biopic CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, there’s been a whole lot of buzz and backlash regarding the film. And as the iconic group covers V Magazine, they share about the journey of making the phenomenal movie.
“The four-time Grammy-winning, 65-million-albums-selling R&B girl supergroup” will forever be one of the greatest of all time, and the movie brought back a lot of fond memories for old fans and gained the group many new ones. Even though there has been plenty of controversy following the film due to its showcasing of the scandalous mismanagement of funds by TLC’s former manager Peri “Pebbles” Reid–ex-wife of music mogul and producer, L.A Reid–members Tionne “T-Boz”Watkins and Rozonda “Chili” Thomas chat with the mag about how emotional and rewarding it was to relive those years of trial and success. Keke Palmer took the role of Chili, Drew Sidora played T-Boz, and Lil’ Mama perfectly portrayed Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, who died in a tragic car accident in Honduras back in 2002. “It was really, really weird,” Watkins says. “Especially with Lil Mama, because her real eyes are hazel and so they put these big, round black contacts in, like Lisa’s eyes. She looked up at me one time and I was like, ‘This is weird.’”

T-Boz and Chili are still just as stylish as we remember them being back in the 90s and haven’t aged a bit. Want to check out the full interview with the music icons? Click here!
